What biomining solves
Legacy dumpsites occupy prime urban land, contaminate groundwater through leachate, and generate methane and persistent fires. Capping them defers the problem; biomining removes it.
The process excavates aged waste, stabilises it through bioremediation, and mechanically separates it into soil-like fines, combustible RDF fraction, inerts and recoverable metals — leaving clean, reusable land behind.
How the process works
Bioremediation comes first: the dump is dosed, aerated and turned over several weeks so that the organic content stabilises and moisture drops to a workable level.
Excavated material is then fed through a mobile screening train — typically a trommel screen followed by air density separation — producing a fines fraction suitable for site restoration, an RDF fraction with commercial value, and construction-grade inerts.
